Upstate Funk is a high energy, 8 piece, horn-driven cover band. We play a variety of music that will entertain people of all ages. Upstate Funk draws it’s talented members from well-known local bands. You may have even seen some of them share a stage with Aretha Franklin, The Temptations, or Everclear. Covering songs from artists like Bruno Mars, Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, KC and the Sunshine Band, Amy Winehouse and Donna Summer, Upstate Funk is sure to get everyone on the dance floor.

When you hear of a funky horn band, you might not expect an opera singer to be fronting it. However, after many years of singing classical music, Gabriella has now expanded her horizons and is singing the music she grew up listening to and has always loved. Gabriella started singing with local bands like Skippy & the Pistons in 2019. Some of the highlights of her musical career include singing for the Mosaic Arts Opera Company, and with Eileen Ivers (Riverdance). Gabriella holds degrees in both music and nursing. She is currently a psychiatric nurse practitioner and college professor.
